Why should a difference in safety ? I can get killed , or stolen items in my home , although it is unlikely , and I can get killed , or that my items stolen at the airport , which is also unlikely.

Definitely! I live in the Canadian wilderness and all these wild animals are always trying to bash down the door. In an airport i just pay too much for coffee and i can live with that.

Well... THAT depends on where your home is. And probably also a little bit on where the airport is...

Some airports are heavily secured (esp. in USA, where security has gone WAY over any normal security). Some are less secured (like in some Asian countries), but most international airports are quite secure...

Now, if your home is in California or in somewhere in "Tornado Alley", I'd say it's not the safest place to be, when the "big one" hits...

My home is in area, free of earth quakes, tornadoes, etc. so I consider it safe. But still... A burglar could (easily) brake into my house and do harm to me... So HOW safe does that make it?

It's all relative. Don't worry too much about it. If you keep worrying about it, you don't lead a good life...
