The earthquake destroyed the primary source of power for cooling pumps . The tsunami destroyed the secondary source of electrical power for cooling pumps . The actual power plant was not damaged by the earthquake really at all.

Before M9 earthquake , the facility has not been carried out properly maintained for 10 years: all parts, components and structure were fatigue . After the earthquake , the core was unbalanced due to the earthquake and need cooling . Then cooling systems were found dead. ( No ideal if you have broken before or after the earthquake ) . Nobody knew what was wrong with the cooling systems , while nuclei overheats quickly and got explosion safety facilities Other ( boiled water tanks to stream) Now, the final effort fix the electrical supply to the refrigeration system and is expected to be cold plants down to other actions.
