QWhen a tsunami hits where do the water end up going?

and what kind of tall buildings can survive a tsunami ?

The water ends up going back to where they came from. Like any other flood. When this is dependent on how buildings were built.

After a tsunami hits the water re-enters the sea , the water that you can not do it again either evaporates or is absorbed into the soil . Hope this answers your question ! EDIT : just realized you asked a second question , any good building height can survive a tsunami , but Japan is prone to earthquakes buildings are specially constructed to withstand them.

it all ends up going back into the sea.. and any kind of tall building can survive a tsunami, but there will be damage no matter what
