QWhat happens to a tsunami once it hits cold weather?

I live on the coast of Alaska in Unalakleet , and tsunami hit Japan at 2:22 PM here in ... I talked to some people in Seattle and I was told there was nothing ... But I was curious , what happens to a tsunami as it reaches very low temperatures, as in Alaska ?

Time is irrelevant . A tsunami is not a weather related occurrence , for starters ... is a seismic event . It is a series of waves . The climate has an effect on a Tsunami no more than it does in any other wave in the ocean , except perhaps that the tsunami is bigger and therefore requires more energy to influence .

Low temperatures do not affect a tsunami .

Water may mov too fast 2 freez, but oceans dont ever freez. May make ice berg if cold long enuf.

I don't think anything happens, really. If there's ice on the water there, it will probably break the ice.
